Welp, I've decided to take on the challenge of joining in on :icondrink-more-water:'s and :iconchrisdog203:'s picture-a-day challenge. Why? Well, for a number of reasons.

One, I'm trying to get some art practice in, courtesy of all you lovely people out there inflating my ego. Thank you again to the people who comment on and favorite my stuff. It means a lot to me~

Two, I'm trying to diversify my DA page a bit. Most of the stuff on here is 9-related (or 9-U related to be more specific) and writing. I am not involved in only 9. So, in other words, I'm just trying to give my other fandoms some love. That doesn't mean I'm going to stop writing, however. :XD:

And three, I'm trying to have a chance at finally solidifying my art style. I've taken on a few different techniques when I draw in an attempt to finally get professional about this stuff, but I haven't really found anything that I'm comfortable in across the border. Sure, I've got a "style" for my stitchpunks, but my humans, dragons, animals...all that stuff is still being revamped. Needless to say, you're going to see a lot of humans and dragons and weird people in big metal suits along with my stitchies in the near future.

Here is the challenge list:

love
alternate universe
past/present
nature
blood
rain
game
relaxation
death
reach
solitude
sorrow
fear
destruction
greed
opposites
sleep
happiness
hot/cold
family/friends

magic/illusion
music
water
fire
embarrassment
wings
monster
technology
reflection
hero

Right. In other news.

Just as I type this the Space Shuttle Discovery has just taken off from Cape Canaveral and is now on its way to the International Space Station, carrying a payload consisting of a pressurized multipurpose module (PMM) and an ELC-4 to the International Space Station. Note that this is one of the final journeys of the NASA Space Shuttle program. I have to say...I'm sad to see the program go. It's been truly amazing to see and read about the brave men and women who risked their life to pilot the most complicated vehicle ever invented by man, and while the space shuttle was never intended to fly farther than a few miles above our atmosphere, the work that the program made possible was breakthrough nonetheless.

I remember being five years old and watching space shuttle launches after school from Tampa Bay. Just a little less than a year ago, I was there, at the launch site, in an area that was reserved only for VIP space center guests; open to the public as the Endeavor took off after six unsuccessful tries. I remember seeing the Columbia break apart on entry on live TV when I was in third grade. For the longest time, space was all me and my brother could talk about. Granted, I never wanted a job like that, but I have had nothing but respect for the NASA astronauts who made this extremely dangerous and precise job look easy. I stood at the Astronaut Memorial at Kennedy and saw the names of those who lost their lives to the program...including Christa McAuliffe, who was supposed to be the first teacher in space. And now, all of that is ending. This is indeed one of the most historical moments in the history of NASA. To the crew of the STS-133 Discovery mission...good luck, and come home safe.

Oh, I started on that challenge thing too! :D I already inked the first theme of Love, but I'm waiting to submit it. :P I decided to use all the forms of my character NightRunner (demon, hellhound, eagle, human, and "good-side" which I haven't revealed yet) because they're all so different in anatomy that it's good practice.

As for the space missions, that makes me so sad. D: When I heard it's the last mission, I was really, really sad about it.
